Glory in the Highest

Glory in the Highest is a Christmas overture primarily based around “O Come All Ye Faithful”. The opening motif is built around the fragment that says, Glory to God in the Highest. Two other carols are referenced within this piece. The middle section uses “Angels we have Heard on High” in a mostly delicate manner and the final section brings in “Ding Dong Merrily on High”. Both these carols have a similar “Gloria” motif to that of the opening Glory to God fragment. This molds all together seamlessly into a great big climax in the final moments using the words of verse 6 in “O Come All Ye Faithful” that say:

Sing, choirs of angels,
sing in exultation,
sing, all ye citizens of heav’n above!
Glory to God, all glory in the highest:
