The Conqueror

The story and death of Jesus on a cross made some believe that he wasn’t the Saviour. Jesus was supposed to be this conquering king. To them, the life of Jesus had ended in defeat, not victory. Paul says, “The word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing. But to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

In God’s plan, the death of Jesus on a cross provided salvation to all who believe. He was indeed The Conqueror. He was The Conqueror of sin.

This piece portrays a glimpse of the expectation versus the reality of Jesus’s conquering.

Joint excitement that there will be a savior. True belief in a promised King.
Thine is the glory,
Risen, conquering Son;
A world in disfunction. Jesus isn’t this mighty conquering king that would be crowned as ruler.
A truth theme appears. Jesus speaks about love and forgiveness. Disciples start to understand how people are to be saved and come to know Christ.
Hatred, denial, and resistance against Jesus’s message are revealed. The truth theme reveals the sacrifice that will be made.
The build up to the final tune has the words:
Angels in bright raiment
Rolled the stone away,
The rising from the dead defeats sin and announces:
Thine is the glory,
Risen, conquering Son;
Endless is the victory,
Thou over death hast won.
